New music from Jonny Vibe.

For a limited time you can download a  shit load of new music from Jonny Vibe and Daniel Martinez!!

“Jonny Vibe pays attention to the smallest of details. His attention to detail was part of the reason I wanted him involved with the radio show. When Jonny joined Future Sound, 6 or 7 years ago, he already had several tracks ready for the dance floor. Constantly making music, his methodic (at times obsessive) attention to detail, makes for some really dynamic techno!

Over the years Jonny has remained impervious to the fleeting trends of edm, while absorbing the good and filtering out the crap. He has proven himself an accomplished DJ and has cultivated a definitive style that remains true to his original  vision. Jonny  loves both “hard” and “minimal” extremes of the techno spectrum and it’s  apparent in the ambient elements, driving beats and complex progressions of his music.” Chad

LP Photo Mashups

If you collect vinyl, it’s likely you have combined the covers to make new images. Or snapped a photo of a record cover in front of your friend’s  face. In fact we were surprised at the wealth of  images online of this  visual mashup.  Here are a few of our favorite…Try doing this with a download. Continue reading

Jonny Vibe In EDC Land

!Jonny Vibe’s Adventure at Las Vegas’ First EDC

Click here for a shit load more EDC videos

Friday, we were the first two people at the gate (as you can tell from the first video). It was a three hour wait before we got into the festival. By then we needed hydration so we found a watering station. After all, Its a desert out there:)

Each of the five main stages were massive. The “Cosmic Meadow” was the first stage we saw when we walked in. Joaquin Bamaca was tearing up some funky hard minimal for his two hour set. We made our way to the “Bass Pod” stage where we caught Marcus Intalex. Wicked drum & bass! We stayed long enough to catch a little Roni Size. It was SICK!!! (in a good way).

Next, it was off to the Circuit Grounds where Crystal Method was bangin’ out a killer DJ set. Up next was Christopher Lawrence for a little hard trance. Wanting to see the rest of the event, we made our way around the to the “Kinetic Field” stage (the largest stage ever built in North America, about 200 feet tall, and 600 feet wide). WOW! Wolfgang Gartner had the crowd in a frenzy! Making our way back to Cosmic Meadows, Royksopp was playing a light but driving set of house, trance and some minimal. Just fabulous!!!! Up next was Richie Hawtin presents Plastikman. Exactly what this city needs, good old fashion LIVE techno! His set reminded me of past days in techno. Bangin’ 909s, twisting 303 lines and a dirty techno quality. It was too bad I had a stomach ache from HELL. I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the tunes. A wonderful break from all the watered down “techno” sets one usually hears in Las Vegas.

Austra Song by Children

PS22 Chorus Cover Austra

The adorable kids of the PS22 Chorus have paid homage  to one of my favorite current bands, Austra. This heart felt cover of  Energy, the b-side to Beat and Pulse, is amazing! I can’t help but smile every time I watch it. If you are a regular listener to our radio show, then you are familiar with the Toronto based Austra (as we have been playing the shit out of their new album - Feel It Break). I included the original song as well for a side-by-side comparison.

Video “Soul Flight”_Jonny Vibe

“Soul Flight was created at Liquid Launch Studio late September 2008. I was using new software, in a home away from home. The track was originally intended to be darker but lighter tones simply found there way back into the mix. With a little engineering magic from Phase V, it was tied together nicely. The video compliments it’s true nature.”_Jonny Vibe

“This aptly named song evoked a feeling of floating so I knew I wanted to use images of sky in the video. Most of the images are still pictures that Jonny and I shot one night, messing around with stop motion animation. The rest is found footage. While making this I remember reading somewhere, that the term “Soul Flight” was used to describe the out of body journey experienced by shamans.”_Chad Martinez
